11-12 girls games for Thursday June 16th @Cave City have been cancelled. All other scheduled games will continue as scheduled.

There has been a schedule change to the baseball games at Southside today June 9th. All games have been pushed back 1 hour. The new times are as follows. 11/12 boys play at 6:00 and 7:30pm on the baseball field. 9/10 boys team #2 plays at 6:00 on the softball field followed by team #1 at 7:30pm . 7/8 boys play at 6:00 and 7:15pm on the middle school field.

Driver’s Education Summer Course The Hillcrest School District will offer a Driver’s Education course this summer. Mr. Shawn Rose, a certified teacher, administrator, and driver’s education instructor, will teach the course. Students will receive a grade, HS credit, and a certificate upon completion of the course. Our schedule this year is pretty tight on days, but can be ‘tweaked’ to accommodate for kids with trips, ball camps, etc. so, please ask about taking the class, even if you may have scheduling conflicts. Classes will begin Wednesday, June 15, they will begin at 8:00am, lasting until around 1:00, depending on the number of students that enroll. The final day of class will be Thursday, June 30. The Course will cost each student $100, but will also include a free breakfast and lunch each day in the Strawberry cafeteria. Students must be at least 14 years of age and have completed the 8th grade prior to the beginning classroom instruction. Students must obtain and have in their possession a valid learner’s permit when receiving ‘behind the wheel’ instruction on public streets and highways. Hillcrest Summer School will begin next Tuesday, June 7th. Bus Routes and approximate bus times for Hillcrest Summer School students. Mrs. Netrefa’s Bus: Pickup: at Nelsonville at 7:10, then along Hwy 58 at 7:15, Hwy 115 to Calamine at 7:25-7:30, and Jesup at 7:35. Mr. Jones’s Bus: Picking up students along Hwy 25 at Hadacol Corner at 7:00, and along Hwy 25 to Lynn by 7:05, then south on Hwy 361 to Saffell by 7:15. Then continuing south on Hwy 25 past dowdy, turning around at about 7:22, the bus will then return to Strawberry picking up students along Hwy 25 on the east side of the highway arriving at school by 7:35. Mr. Goff’s Bus: Will pick up students at Smithville at 7:05, then travel East on Hwy 117 turning onto Wasson Rd. at about 7:15. Mr. Goff should arrive at the Old Lynn Grocery store at 7:30 and continue along Hwy 25 to Strawberry and arriving at approximately 7:35. Mr. Smith’s Bus: Will pickup along Grange Rd at 7:15, arriving at the Hilltop pick up area at 7:20. He will then continue East along Hwy 230 until reaching the Strawberry campus at about 7:35. All games at Lynn today 5/26 have been cancelled due to field conditions.

Changes to baseball schedule for Thursday May 26th at Midland. Team 1 9-10 boys play at 5:00 on the softball field. 9-10 boys team 2 will follow at 6:30. 7-8 boys play at 5 on the baseball field.

Due to the threat of severe weather, all baseball and softball games at Hillcrest and Cedar Ridge have been postponed. Games will be rescheduled at a later date.

The Hillcrest summer food program will begin tomorrow, Monday, May 23rd. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 - 8:30am with lunch served from from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Kids 18 and under eat free, adult meals are $2.25 for breakfast and $3.50 for lunch. Meals will be provided Monday through Friday throughout the summer.

He made his name on the baseball diamond!!! George Glenn, JR of Lynn HS, will be inducted into the Lawrence County Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Mabel-Gwinup Cafeteria on the campus of Williams Baptist University at 6:00pm. Come and celebrate this great evening with a 1st Class Banquet, awards presentation, and some great door-prize drawings with the Glenn family and other inductees. Gabby Hays, Jason Belcher, Angela Flippo will also be enshrined. Due to a decent chance of rain Saturday, we have decided to make Thursday night our tournament and trophy night for T-Ball. We will have 3 games Thursday night. We will hand trophies out for each player. We encourage everyone to attend since this will be our last night! We will move the start times up to 5:00. 5:00- Blue vs Black 6:00- Red vs Gray 7:00- Winners of 1st two games.

Parents, all and any medications need to be picked up by the end of school, tomorrow, May 20th.

Hillcrest Parents, This is an informational letter about summer school for those attending. Bus Information We are planning on running four (4) bus routes in the AM and PM. Bus routes will only be traveling on paved roads. We are still in the planning phase of this, so please contact me at shawn.rose@eagles1.k12.ar.us and let me know if your child will be riding the bus in the AM, PM, or both. Bus routes will travel from the campus at Strawberry to: Smithville, Lynn, Jesup, Saffell, Poughkeepsie, Nelsonville, and Hilltop; and traveling on HWY’s 25, 361, 230, 115, 117, 56, Nelsonville Rd. Grange Rd, and Pete Wasson Rd. Buses will arrive at the Strawberry campus at around 7:40AM each morning; after arriving, each student will have approximately four (4) hours of instruction, recess, and lunch before dismissing and departing at 1:00PM. Car Rider Information If your child is going to be a car rider, please drop him/her off at the NewTech building entrance (awning), it is located on the Hwy 230 side of the Strawberry campus, drop students off between 7:30AM-7:50AM. The students will eat breakfast in the cafeteria from 7:30-8:00. Afterward, each student will have approximately four (4) hours of instruction, recess, and lunch before dismissing at 1:00. The car pickup line is also at the NewTech building entrance (awning). Hillcrest summer school begins Tuesday, June 7th, and will conclude Thursday, June 30th on the Strawberry campus/NewTech Building. Summer school is on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only, from 8:00AM-1:00PM. Students will have a recess/physical activity period. We will serve breakfast and lunch daily. The Eagle’s Nest Summer Care Program will be open from May 23rd until August 10th. The program is open to all children who have had their 5th birthday and have not yet entered the 7th grade. Students will participate in a variety of learning activities incorporating literacy, math, and science hands-on FUN!! There will be daily indoor/outdoor physical activities/PE and independent play time. Art and Music activities will be scheduled weekly! Students will take several FIELD TRIPS during the summer program. A few scheduled trips will include swimming, movies, and bowling!
